Every now and then, someone gets the recognition they deserve.
Tonight was that night for our own Dr. Lora Barke courtesy of the Susan G. Komen Colorado.
Dr. Barke, Medical Director for Invision Sally Jobe Breast Centers, has built her professional career around fighting breast cancer.
Dr. Barke has been widely recognized as a thought leader and visionary scientist, including her work with breast cancer screening using tomosynthesis (3D mammography), which is regarded as a catalyst for major breakthroughs in medical science.
Her dedication doesn’t stop there. Dr. Barke volunteers her free time generously, giving years of service on multiple national committees, and tirelessly generating support for organizations like Susan G. Komen.
Tonight, Dr. Barke was recognized for her endless efforts in creating a world without breast cancer, being named the the Rebecca Haddad Ambassador for Breast Cancer Award at the Susan G. Komen 2018 Pink Tie Affair in Denver. This award is bestowed upon individuals whose support, and whose innovative and creative activities have significantly assisted the Komen Colorado chapter in advancing their mission to save lives and end breast cancer.
Dr. Barke joins a list of prestigious, renowned award-winners, and her accomplishments, tireless support and visionary medical insight prove that the award is well deserved.
