Valerie joined Invision Sally Jobe in the spring of 2016 as a PRN mammographer. Being new to the field, she “just wanted to be a mammo tech.” After a few months of working two PRN positions, a permanent position presented itself at ISJ’s Presbyterian St. Luke’s location, and she took it.
As a mammographer in a very competitive market, Valerie had a choice for where to start her career. She ultimately chose ISJ due to its commitment to quality of care. “The physicians have such high standards and catch things that others may be missing.”
Fast-forward three-and-a-half years, and Valerie pursued another mammography opportunity at our Golden facility. The larger, higher-volume site proved to be a turning point in her career. Even though her title was mammographer, she began to emerge as an informal leader at the site. When a site lead position was created, Valerie again pursued the opportunity and was selected for the role.
As ISJ continued to grow, opportunity again came knocking — this time as a site supervisor, overseeing the daily operations of three outpatient clinics. Recognizing her talent for organization and problem-solving, Valerie was again selected to lead in this new capacity. What does Valerie look forward to in her future with ISJ? “The next growth opportunity.”
