Why are we passionate about what we do? Because every service we provide has the potential to save lives. Imaging tests provide an extremely detailed internal view of your body. Each scan can identify diseases and injuries to help your doctor plan your treatment going forward. Here is an overview of three of the major techniques for diagnostic imaging and therapeutic interventions that we provide at our 14 locations.
We love what we do so that you can love what you do!
MRI – Magnetic Resonance Imaging. MRI is used to diagnose conditions such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, cancer, structural problems of the heart, damage to the heart caused by a heart attack or heart disease, tumors, and joint or bone problems. The test uses magnetic fields and a computer to create detailed, cross-sectional images of your organs and tissues.
CAT – Computerized Axial Tomographic Scan To diagnose disease. A CAT produces a series of images that are like slices in a loaf of bread. These slices allow a much more precise and detailed view, because we look at sections rather than the “whole picture.” This imaging technique clearly shows soft tissue, like the brain; in addition to dense tissue, like bone. The information gathered during a CAT scan is processed by a computer and read by a radiologist.
Mammography – Mammography is the most important tool in the diagnosis of breast cancer. Mammography screening is a low dose x-ray that takes a take a digital image of the breast while the breast is compressed. Mammography finds abnormalities that cannot be seen or felt by you or your doctor. Most of these abnormalities are not cancer, but they must be further investigated by a radiologist.
