The evolution of 3D mammography
Feb 19, 2017
Invision Sally Jobe was an early adopter of the emerging 3D mammography, or digital breast tomosynthesis technology. As part of a collaborative group with other, similar sites, we are pooling data for multiple large-scale analyses of performance measures as compared to standard digital (2D) mammography. Results from the first project showed improved cancer detection using tomosynthesis and were published in The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) in 2014. Further, the results received local, state and national press coverage. With Project 2 also published, project 3 near completion and project 4 in development, this group will continue to answer important questions regarding 3D mammography.
